Streszczenie

<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Artykuł podejmuje problematykę filozoficznych podstaw etyki zawodowej funkcjonariuszy Służby Więziennej. Zarysowana tu koncepcja &bdquo;etyki chronienia os&oacute;b&rdquo; opracowana została przez Mieczysława Gogacza w ramach tomizmu konsekwentnego. W centrum tej etyki znajduje się osoba, kt&oacute;rej niezbywalna godność jest rozumiana nie jako postulat etyczny, lecz jako konsekwencja jej ontycznej struktury. Opr&oacute;cz pojęcia osoby i jej godności istotna dla tej teorii jest koncepcja relacji osobowych. Po kr&oacute;tce przedstawione zostało r&oacute;wnież rozumienie autorytetu w oparciu o typologię J&oacute;zefa M. Bocheńskiego oraz znaczenie cnoty męstwa. Zaprezentowana propozycja może stanowić teoretyczną podstawę dalszego rozwoju szczeg&oacute;łowych zasad etyki zawodowej funkcjonariuszy Służby Więziennej.</span></p>

Proposal of the Philosophical Foundations of the Professional Ethics of a Prison Oficer

Summary

This article discusses the philosophical foundations of the professional ethics of the Prison Service officers. It outlines the concept of the "ethics of the protecting persons" developed by Mieczysław Gogacz within the framework of the consistent Thomism. At the core of this ethical approach lies the human person, whose inalienable dignity is understood not merely as an ethical postulate, but as a consequence of the ontic structure of the person. In addition to the notions of the person and dignity, the theory places significant emphasis on the concept of the personal relations. The article also briefly discusses the understanding of the the authority based on Józef M. Bocheński’s typology and highlights the importance of the virtue of the fortitude. The proposed framework may serve as a theoretical foundation for the further development of the detailed professional ethical standards for Prison Service personnel.
