Streszczenie
W obecnym funkcjonowaniu zakładów karnych i aresztów śledczych, z uwagi na brak alternatywnych, technicznych sposobów odnajdywania przedmiotów niedozwolonych funkcjonariuszom w celu zapewnienia bezpieczeństwa pozostają tradycyjne sposoby przeprowadzania kontroli osobistej osób pozbawionych wolności. Jednocześnie należy podkreślić, że stanowi ona jedną z najbardziej wrażliwych czynności realizowanych w codziennej służbie pozostających we właściwości Służby Więziennej. Dlatego tak ważne są jasno sprecyzowane zasady oraz posiadanie przez funkcjonariuszy Służby Więziennej szczegółowej wiedzy, a także umiejętności i doświadczenia w tym zakresie. Artykuł ma na celu przybliżenie regulacji dotyczących możliwości przeprowadzania kontroli osobistej wobec osób pozbawionych wolności przez funkcjonariuszy Służby Więziennej oraz wątpliwości interpretacyjne w tym zakresie. Autor w pracy posłużył się również doświadczeniem Służby Więziennej przed wejściem w życie obecnych uregulowań oraz zawarł konkluzje i rekomendacje w zakresie usprawnienia tego rodzaju działań.

Personal control of a person deprived of liberty as an activity necessary to ensure penitentiary security - analysis of the principles of its conduct
Summary
In the current operation of prisons and detention centers, due to the lack of alternative, technical means of finding prohibited items, officers are left with the traditional means of conducting personal inspections of persons deprived of liberty in order to ensure security. At the same time, it should be emphasized that it is one of the most sensitive activities carried out in the daily service under the jurisdiction of the Prison Service. That is why it is so important to have clearly defined rules and for Prison Service officers to have detailed knowledge, as well as skills and experience in this area. The article aims to provide an overview of the regulations on the possibility of conducting personal inspections of persons deprived of liberty by Prison Service officers, as well as interpretative doubts in this regard. The author in the work also used the experience of the Prison Service before the current regulations came into force, and included conclusions and recommendations for improving such activities.
