Streszczenie
Problematyka stosowania środków przymusu bezpośredniego stanowi przykład władczego uprawnienia funkcjonariuszy Służby Więziennej ingerującego najdalej w sferę praw i swobód jednostki. Użycie przymusu bezpośredniego przez funkcjonariuszy Służby Więziennej w okolicznościach i warunkach określonych przez prawodawcę umożliwia realizację zadań przedstawicielom tej formacji, jak też szybką reakcję na zagrożenia występujące w otoczeniu, którym realizują swoje funkcje ustawowe. Z uwagi na fakt, iż prawo do stosowania środków przymusu bezpośredniego ma swoją historię, uzasadnione jest ukazanie w pewnym zarysie kształtowania się tego uprawnienia przysługującego funkcjonariuszom Służby Więziennej, co stało się przedmiotem analizy niniejszego opracowania.

An outline of the development of the right to use direct coercive measures by Prison Service Officers
Summary
The issue of the use of direct coercive measures is an example of the authoritative power of Prison Service officers, which interferes most profoundly with the sphere of individual rights and freedoms. The use of direct coercive measures by Prison Service officers in circumstances and under conditions specified by the legislator enables the performance of tasks by members of this service, as well as a rapid response to threats occurring in the environment in which they perform their statutory functions. Given the history of the right to use direct coercive measures, it is justified to outline the development of this right for Prison Service officers, which is the subject of this study.
